The 4th edition of the prestigious Monaco World Sports Legends Award ( WSLA), also known as the Oscars of Sport, brought together the world’s elite athletes for the Award Ceremony and Gala Dinner. This coveted prize awards sporting champions, both active and retired, as well as recognizes well-known industry professionals’ outstanding performance in the field of sports or those who have gained distinction for their related contribution and support. In 2019, the impressive list of nominees boasted the cream of the crop in terms of sporting talent, including such legendary athletes as Qatari motor racing driver Nasser al-Attiyah, US racing driver Mario Andretti, Italian motorcycle racer Loris Capirossi, Mexican runner Ana Guevara, and Connie Henry, founder of the Track Academy (United Kingdom), for their support and help to children in need. The award ceremony is traditionally closed by the Handprints Show, where the winners gain entry to the Pantheon of the World Sports Legends by leaving their hand prints. As always, the event was hosted by the international ballet star Lorena Baricalla, Ambassadress and Master of Ceremonies of the Monaco World Sports Legends Award. Monaco Today Magazine is an official partner of the event.
